Adaptive Technology - Hardware

ONYX Deskset with Multiple-View Magnification Camera
Accessible Computer Stations:
All the testing rooms are well equipped with accessible computer systems pre-installed with JAWS screen reading software, ZoomText magnifying
software and Dragon speach-to-text software.
CCTV/Video Enlarger:
Video enlargers make printed material (eg: textbooks articles, exams etc) more accessible to a student who has low vision. By placing any
traditional book or text in the enlarger, the print can be magnified optically.
ONYX Deskset with Multiple-View Magnification Camera:
This 19" multi-view video enlarger is more advanced than a traditional CCTV/Video Enlarger. The Onyx deskset offers three distinct views:
In distance view, even objects from across large rooms or auditoriums (Eg: Blackboards, speaker/presenter etc) can be seen in sharp focus.
Document view gives student the ability to magnify any printed material. Self View, although not used in academic setting, could allow the
user to get a magnified true mirror image close up. In all the three view modes, the camera remembers its settings in each position so you
can switch back and forth between viewing modes without refocusing or readjusting the camera. The display gives users options to change
foreground background colors and contrasts for easy viewing.
Optical Trackball mouse for computers:
Ergonomically desgined Trackball reduces hand movement and space requirements. The scroll ring puts scrolling right at your fingertips.
BigKeys Plus:
BigKeys Plus is ergonomically desinged keyboard with 1-inch-square keys on a standard sized keyboard.
Adaptive Technology - Software

JAWS Screen Reading Software
JAWS Screen Reading Software:
With its internal software speech synthesizer and the computer’s sound card, information from the screen is read aloud, providing
technology to access a wide variety of information.
Zoom Text Screen Magnifying Software:
ZoomText Magnifier enlarges and enhances everything on the computer screen, making all the applications easy to see and use.
Dragon Naturally Speaking Software:
Dragon Naturally Speaking is a speech-to-text software that converts that dictation into words/commands on the computer. This software
works with the most commonly used desktop applications, including Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, and more. Just about anything you
do now by typing can be done faster using your voice. Student with special needs can use the software to create and edit documents,
Open and close applications and control the computer mouse and entire desktop with voice commands.
Natural Reader Screen Reading Software:
NaturalReader is a Text to Speech software with natural sounding voices. This easy to use software can convert any written text such
as MS Word, Webpage, and PDF files, into spoken words.
