Mission

The mission of Student Disability Services is to ensure that qualified students with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate in and benefit from the curricular and co-curricular opportunities available at the University of Central Florida as mandated by federal/state laws and the University's goal of becoming more inclusive and diverse. Integral to this mission is providing leadership, advocacy, and reasonable accommodations (such as extended time for tests, notetaking, and sign language interpreters), as well as opportunities to achieve excellence and scholarship for qualified students with disabilities. Promoting community through collaboration with faculty and staff is essential to provide these services.

Welcome Note

The University of Central Florida (UCF) is committed to offering high-quality undergraduate and graduate education. Student Disability Services (SDS) is committed to providing qualified students with disabilities academic accommodations to ensure equal accessibility to educational opportunities offered at all UCF campuses.

SDS offers a wide range of academic accommodations for qualified students with disabilities based on appropriate disability documentation provided during an intake interview with one of our SDS Coordinators. Academic accommodations help to level the playing field for students with disabilities and are not reflected on student transcripts.
